Responsibilities of Producers under EPR :

- Recycling Targets: Producers are given specific recycling targets based on the amount of electronic goods they produce or import. These targets must be met annually.
- Environmental Compliance: Producers must ensure that the recycling of e-waste is done in an environmentally safe and sustainable manner, following the rules set by the CPCB and MoEFCC.
Benefits of EPR E-Waste Certification :
- Environmental Responsibility: Certification demonstrates a company's commitment to responsible e-waste management and sustainability.
- Legal Compliance: It ensures that your company meets the legal requirements under Indian environmental laws.
- Market Reputation: Companies with EPR certification gain consumer trust, as they are seen as being environmentally conscious and responsible.
- Business Opportunities: Many large companies and government agencies prefer working with certified and compliant vendors when procuring electronics.
Penalties for Non-Compliance :
If a producer fails to comply with the EPR requirements or does not submit reports, they may face penalties, including fines or suspension of their business activities. Non-compliance can lead to significant environmental damage, legal consequences, and a tarnished brand image.
Renewal of EPR Certification :
